3 Things Buyers Want in Post-Pandemic Homes
Here are three preferences in homes that the pandemic brought about.
What is one thing that you don’t think will go back to how it was before the pandemic? I’ve thought about this question a lot in relation to real estate. I’ve come up with a list of three preferences that I think have shifted. I don’t see any of these going back to the way they were before anytime soon:
1. Home offices. Before COVID, clients would rarely place a home office as a priority, but people are now turning down homes because they don’t have the office they were looking for.
"Home offices are a top priority after the pandemic."
2. Workout spaces. Some people will be returning to the gym, but a lot of people, myself included, have completely transitioned to at-home workouts. People are now looking for a place to put the Peloton or the treadmill.
3. Outdoor space. This has always been on a lot of people’s lists, but people started to use their outdoor space differently during the pandemic. This especially applies to people who lived in apartments and maybe didn’t have any outdoor space. On top of this, 23 million Americans brought home a pet during the pandemic, and at least some of those were dogs. If you have a dog, you’re probably looking for a lot more outdoor space.
I think these trends are here to stay for a while, so they’re something to keep in mind if you’re renovating your home. If you have any questions, feel free to call or email me. I’d love to help.
